The President, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo- Addo has said that government is working on intensifying cyber security in the country.
He made this statement when delivering the state of Nation’s address on the floor of Parliament today.
According to the President, this initiative is to enable government build confidence and protect the use of electronic communications in the nation’s development.
He mentioned that it will also ensure that the youth who are technologically savvy would keep Ghana firm in the IT sector.
“Govt is working to strengthen cyber security to build confidence and protect the use of electronic communications in national development and ensure that our young technologically savvy people would keep Ghana firmly in the exciting IT economy and its many opportunities,” he said.
The President added that the country has seen a surge in many e-commerce platforms as well as mobile money transactions which makes the issue of cyber security more crucial than ever as the activities of hackers continue to pose a serious threat globally.
