The Director of Policy Planing Monitoring and Evaluation of the Ministry of Information Mrs. Patricia Dovi Sampson, paid a surprise visit to the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE) to show support to the ongoing training project “Girls Can Code”.
As part of her visit, Mrs. Patricia Dovi Sampson joined the first batch of ten teachers selected from the five regions of the southern sector of Ghana to learn how to develop their own studying game dubbed “Scratch”.
She urged the beneficiary teachers under the “Girls Can Code Project” to be patient with their students when they begin teaching them at their respective institutions.
Mrs. Patricia Dovi Sampson also urged them to encourage and motivate the students in a friendly manner that will whet their desires to learn fast in ensuring the success of the “Girls Can Code Project”.
She commended the Staff and Management of AITI-KACE for creating a convenient atmosphere for the teaching and learning of ICT, as well as the adoption of a practical method of teaching teachers to be trainers under the project.
