The Company has been in existence since 2011 with its first invention in vehicle security device – to curb car theft and provide surveillance for properties in the country.

Interestingly, this is a man who has no formal education in IT related field but just developed an extreme passion for software development and technology tools used to solving problem.
When asked how these ideas were conceived, Mr. Asumadu uttered that the whole idea was conceived out of his troubles and encounter with people as well as his extreme passion for software development. On his troubles side, he counted the numerous challenges he went through which included snatching of his phone one night and thieves breaking into his car to steal his laptop. He said that was when he reflected on how technology can be used to eradicate this menace in our society. It was for this reason that Mr. Asumadu established BRICH company (BRICH was an acronym of his name B-Blessing and Richmond) which came up with their first technology device known as Vehicle security. Vehicle security device was to assist in solving car theft, speed control, tracking device, alarm system, geographical location of your vehicle among other problems in the country.

After the conception of the vehicle security device, BRICH researched into the market to keep itself abreast with latest technology trend. As the world embraces its current generation of computing which is the 5th generation, hence, the emergence of Artificial Intelligence and Robotic development, Mr. Asumadu and his team are not left behind. He highlighted some robotic initiatives he has started these include a technology software that can put on and off street lights at the comfort of your location on your mobile phone, Robotics that can assist to solve problems in all sector of the economy- health, Agriculture, Finance, Education etc.
BRICH mobile phone which is the first hundred percent Ghanaian owned brand is doing well on the market with updates in features as time goes on. He said BRICH is planning to add more software to its phone which will solve challenges and provide a good learning material for its customers. “we will sort for good learning materials that will provide even an accountant the latest accounting software and other professionals with the right learning content that they want. Our mobile phones will be one of the products that will enhance knowledge”, he touted.
Also, BRICH manufactures CCTV cameras and Tracking device which provides surveillance to the home, office and institution.
When asked why BRICH is not popular on the market, Mr. Asumadu replied by saying that they were digging and researching very hard to come out with one of the best quality products which will not only meet the Ghanaian standard but the world as a whole. He stated emphatically that BRICH is now of age and matured in the world of technology and its evident in the products that have so far released therefore, BRICH is coming out with full zeal to dominate the market come 2018.
The Boss of BRICH touted some social initiatives he has launched for the development of the country and the young generation. The famous among his social initiative is the one child one tablet. In order to promote technology education and development of children in the country, BRICH is poised to ensure that every child gets a tablet to facilitate learning. Speaking on this initiative, Mr. Asumadu said these devices are critical in safeguarding the future of our country and continent. As the world embraces technology in various facets of life, we must seek to make it an integral part of the growth process of our children.” Asumadu adds that, “This will empower them to be able to find their place in life and master the skills to be able to compete globally.” This initiative also saw students from LAS Liberty School pay a visit to the company to try their hands on building complete circuits such as musical door bell, fire alarms etc.
Not everybody who can afford gadget at a go even though they need it urgently. In light of this BRICH came up payment format for everybody to be able to have access to his gadget. This is known as “Tua Tua Gye” meaning pay in bit and get a Laptop, tablet, Kiddy Tablet or a BRICH phone. In this case potential clients will be allowed to pay in bits for the technology device.
Mr. Asumadu stated so many challenges that come with the work. He said the major challenge confronting him to execute most of his initiatives is funding. When asked if government is providing him any assistance looking at the great things he and his team are doing, He said “I have chase government officials with lots of proposal but no feedback. There are days that you call and they don’t pick up their phone calls”.
Aside the funding, he added that the unnecessary charges at the port is not helping to develop most of the projects in full. Exorbitant charges are taken from them at the port which reduce the work input here at home.
The BRICH CEO lamented over the heavy tax imposed on their activities. “Taxes are taken from the port on your raw materials to those you work with and even to those who sell the finished product at the retail stand”. These are some of the things that bring the local companies down.
But he was quick to express his excitement over the Finance minister pronouncement of providing tax holidays for entrepreneurs who are below 35years. He said “I am very happy the finance minister read in his 2018 budget that there will be tax holidays for entrepreneurs who are below 35 years and I am hoping it happens soon”.
When asked if he was not worried about the known brands like Samsung, Iphone, Techno etc having dominated the market, He said, “for Samsung and other known brands on the market, they are doing the same thing that we do. There is no difference. We are all in assembling. We get our stuffs from where Samsung get theirs. We believe that five years from now as we put one or few things in place we will take over from Samsung in the market by developing software that the people want”.
Mr. Asumadu reiterated that BRICH technologies have come to stay and will dominate the market soon. He urged every Ghanaian to make use of his innovations and promote their own in order to develop the country. He also assured the government of his total commitment in supporting projects that help the government to accomplish his goals in bridging the digital divide in the country taking in cognizance the president’s encouragement of STEM – Science Technology Engineering Mathematics – in the educational cycle.
He has asked Ghanaians to watchout for his next big project to be launched soon which is the BRICH Robotic device.
